Yoga for Weight Loss - Beginners

I have been practicing for 16 years and teaching for 9.  I was lucky enough to continue my practice during my pregnancy.  You might find my 7 year old in the room practicing next to me.  


Yoga  for weight loss. Yoga helps regulate the thyroid glad.  Out of the 26 posture, half of them are front side bends, and 5 postures are forehead to knee. This action help regulate the thyroid gland. 


The "Head to Knee Pose and Stretching Pose" is also excellent for the immune and lymphatic system, and increases circulation to the liver, spleen, pancreas, thyroid, thymus and intestines.  It improves digestion and is good for allergies and arthritis.  Stretching Pose also relieves diarrhea and improving the circulation in the bowels." (page 20, Bikram Yoga).          


 The hardest part is showing up.  You might tell yourself, "I am not flexible", however flexibility starts in the mind.....
