Camelback Mountain - Echo Trail

October 19, 2017

The Camelback Mountain, Echo Canyon Trail is by far my favorite hike in all of Phoenix, Paradise Valley, & Scottsdale. I have taken many people there for the first time.  This is a difficult workout, many locals will hike this on there cardio day.  Visitors will take there time a take lots of pictures. Visitor will want to allow 2-3 hours, round trip.

The hike is 1.2 miles to the summit.  It is well worth the hike.  You will want to be hands free, and have your water in a carrier.  There are a few rails, to hold on to while climbing, and most hiker will use their hands.

Restrooms are located at the parking lot along with water fountains.  Make sure to hydrate the day before and carry at least 3 liters of water.  If the temp. is over 90 degrees: When you are 1/2 out of water you should turn around.
