The Sonoran Desert - Pinnacle Peak Mountain

October 11, 2017

The Sonoran Desert is a North American desert that covers a large parts of the Southwestern United States, Arizona and California and of Northwestern Mexico.

When I was growing up , the desert was the back drop. Since becoming a hiking guide, I get to see the desert through the eyes of others.

Pinnacle Peak Mountain, is special to me because, I hiked it though out my pregnancy. My daughter was born and I strapped her on and kept on hiking. Pinnacle Peak trail is family friendly.  This is my favorite mountain to have a good walk and talk therapy session.

The hike consist of two small mountains, 1.75 miles one way (3.5) round trip.  It is an  out and back trial.

The Saguaro Cactus is found exclusively in the Sonoran deserts.  This ribbed cactus can grow to be between 40-60 feet.

We hiked today, fall break 2017, with some great friends.
